DIRECTIONS to Butt & Oyster (IP9 1JP)
Leave at Ipswich Central (A137) just west of the Orwell Bridge. Follow A137 towards Ipswich, but turn right at the roundabout at the bottom of the hill onto the B1456. Follow B1456 under Orwell Bridge, and through Woolverstone and Chelmondiston, taking the last left turn as you leave Chelmondiston on the road marked to Pin Mill and the river. Park in the Pay & Display CP on the left immediately before the river. The Butt & Oyster is on the riverfront on your right.
TARS members will be in the Cafe (inside the door) from 10:45 to welcome you. A guided Tour of the Library has been arranged for 11.30. To be included on the tour please contact Elsie Miller firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, 7th May.
Parking is available alongside the building – take side road beside the new glass extension. Postcode G3 8AW.
Bus from Edinburgh is Citylink 900 Service to Buchanan St Bus Station then the Underground (Subway) from Buchanan Street to Kelvin Hall station and a shortish walk to the Library.
The Kelvin Hall is opposite the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
The collection includes many historic documents and maps.
After the Tour join us for a lunch across the road in the Art Gallery and Museum.

There is a very interesting Visitor Centre too and toilets. Follow the tracks of Five Red Herrings and the 1935 Hitchcock 39 Steps film.
From Creetown take the B796 for 7 miles turning left onto the minor road after Gatehouse Station to Visitor Centre. From Gatehouse of Fleet take the B796 after 6 miles turn right onto minor road to Visitor Centre and car park.
